Mostly thoughtless thinking

I'm blogging from my phone.

Some people at work drive me nuts. I'm not a people person and I don't like being social, so it surprises me that I enjoy serving so much. As I was thinking about it tonight, I realized that hardly ever do the customers bug me. It's some of the dumb people I work with who get on my nerves. (But I love most of them, so it's worth staying.)

My baby is sick and I can't kiss her. Got a cold sore out of nowhere. Breaks my heart.

Curly hair today.

I wish I could fast forward my life five years to see how certain things play out, then rewind back to now so I can live my life with less stress and worry.

Taking a vacation in July and August and I can't wait! Wish it were now!

Yeah so recently I lost a lot of weight, and it wasn't the healthiest of ways, and since those ways never work, I gained most of it back. Freaking dang it. I need more motivation to just be healthy and live a healthy life. I have no motivation to right now. What motivates you? Help me please!

Coming off the last point, I'm tired of being overweight and not happy with the way I look. Arrrrg. Some days it's fine and I accept it and like myself, but other days it's extremely difficult to even look in a mirror. Maybe it's not so much weight I need to lose, but self esteem I need to gain. I blame society, but also myself.

This post just took a different turn.

Back to random.

I like purple. It's a great color. Looks great on everyone and everything. Even sounds pretty. If I could name my daughter after the color I would. Oh wait, I did.

Valarie Violet Anne.

Nursery is by far my favorite calling I've ever had and I hope to never have another calling. I love the little kids, the little lessons, the singing time, and the joy they get over a sticker or bubbles.

I should be sleeping. It's late, er, early.

Sometimes I miss my old phones. The ones without internet. I'm admitting I'm addicted to my phone and I wish I just didn't have the temptation, but I'm too addicted to give it up.

Guys I love my car.

My foot is itchy.

Flying Time

It was my first Mother's Day this past Sunday and it was great! I got to be with the people I love most; my husband, daughter, and family. Shane surprised me with a new camera and I can't wait to use it more! For my mom and mom-in-law I decided to make gifts this year.

Here's what I made my mom:

And my mother-in-law:

The hand prints on the frames were extremely hard to do since Val kept curling her fingers, but I did my best.

The day before Mother's Day there was a big event in Daybreak. A lot of food trucks were there so we decided to try out a couple. I got a waffle from Waffle Love and Shane and Val got grilled cheese from the Grilled Cheese truck. My waffle was the best waffle I've ever had and I now understand the hype about it. I may have gained five pounds eating it, but it was more than worth it.

I got "The works." Biscoff spread with a fruit of my choice (banana) and cream.

Call me Katnis.

The past couple of days Valarie hasn't been herself. She's been up all night crying and fussing all day. It's been hard since she won't sleep, it doesn't matter if she's in our bed or her own. I'm tired and have been very grateful for caffeine, I don't think I'd be functioning without it. Today she started tugging at one ear, so we think it's an ear infection and we'll be calling her doctor, (who is the best by the way,) tomorrow.

Yo Gabba Gabba is the only thing we've found that distracts her.

Valarie is going to be one so soon and I can't wait! I've been getting ready for her party and I think it's going to be awesome! Also, I don't feel old enough to have a one year old, or a baby, or a husband, or a place of my own. I feel like I haven't gotten any older since I was sixteen, where the heck is time going??

I Love Being a Mom

Just a very small photo update. . .

Sleeping during lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Trying on her Easter dress!
(Thanks Zulily!)

Hanging out at City Creek.

At first, Valarie was scared of the fountain. . .

. . . But she warmed up to it fairly quickly.

Oh you know, just shopping at Trader Joe's.

Sometimes, Val gets to participate in preschool.
She really thinks she's one of them.

Wearing my old jacket from kindergarten.
(It was a little big on her, of course!)

She just looks so cute when she sleeps.

Sneak peek of Val's first year photo shoot.
(Taken from my iphone.)

Playing with our friend's new puppy, a husky named Elsa!

Taking Val and Chip on a Sunday walk.

Easter Fun

I just have to say, holidays are ten times more fun with a kid! We had a fantastic Easter weekend! Valarie had an Easter egg hunt with her little bestie, an Easter egg hunt with the Randall family, and a big Easter hunt with all of my younger cousins. Not to mention the Easter bunny came to our house. He gave Val Easter eggs filled with goldfish, reeses cups, and crackers. In her basket she received bath toys, a book, and some baby friendly treats. It was such a fun week!

The Easter Bunny gave Shane and I baskets too!
