My Husband, The Romantic

On February first, Shane and I were watching Smallville and eating dinner when the doorbell rang. It was so strange because no one ever comes over. I was hesitant to answer because I looked through the peep hole and no one was there. I opened it anyway, and sitting on our doormat was this:

I started going, "awwww" and "oh no!" because I thought someone was asking a person to Sweethearts and asked the wrong place by mistake. I started freaking out, telling Shane we need to go through all of the pennies until we find out who this person is. And then we need to find them on facebook asap and tell them they asked the wrong person. So our search began. We went through almost ALL of the pennies before we finally found the name. It looked like this:

I told Shane, "Holy cow, isn't that funny that this person has the same name as you?!" He started laughing and told me that this Shane was him, that he was the one asking me to a dance. Awwww, my husband was putting a dance together for me!

On February 13th, (because I had to work late on the 14th,) Shane left to get ready and I got ready at home. At 6:30pm, he arrived at the door with the biggest corsage I have ever seen in my life! It was bigger than my hand! But it was awesome!

We left for dinner, but Shane wouldn't tell me where we were going. He said it was awesome and we had reservations, but he still refused to tell me where we were going. We got to the freeway and he realized he didn't have his wallet. SERIOUSLY?! I didn't have mine either, so we had to turn around and race home as fast as we could. We got to the apartment and went inside, and there was this:

(Don't worry Shane didn't decorate it, that was from a dinner a few nights before.) Shane had his sister set up a candlelit dinner in our apartment with food from our favorite place, The Red Lantern. It was so sweet and Shane couldn't have chosen anywhere better for dinner. We ate. . .

And then we left for the dance. Shane made me keep my eyes closed the entire time. He drove weird ways just to throw off the route so that I didn't know where we were going. Once we got there, he lead me up a driveway, up some stairs, and then down some stairs. We then went around a corner and I opened my eyes. Here is what I saw:

Shane had put together a private dance just for us in the Pike's basement! We slow danced, fast danced, jumped around, played with the balloons, and goofed off for two hours.

It was so much fun and I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's day! Shane is so thoughtful and so amazing! I love him and everything he does for me, he makes me so happy, and I feel so lucky to call myself his wife!
