Weekends!

Yay for weekend wear!

Friday night, the nieces slept over. We had fun!

 Spaghetti for dinner!
(The girls were watching a movie and wouldn't pay attention to the camera. I promise they were happy.)

Fun at the Fair!

Saturday, September 8th, I went to the Utah State Fair with Shane, Brooklyn and her friend Britlyn, and my friend Alexis. We ate food, shopped, people watched, and had a blast! Brooklyn and Britlyn decided to go on rides so they weren't with us most of the time.

 Sexy boy!

 Friendship bracelets!

Brooklyn feeling sick after all the rides.

This picture was taken at the exact right moment.
And by accident.

 "Touch me."

Meant to improve circulation, but really just jiggled your bum.

 Best lip scrub!

 Shane bought a poncho!

We bought some delicious lemonade!

Sunday Driving

August 26 we gave Brooklyn a driving lesson.

We also took some pictures of just us, to be fun.

Just A Few

Found a few pictures on my computer that I forgot about.
These were all taken in July this year.

We got bored one night so we decorated our eggs.

 Hanging out at grandma's house.

 Playing guitar.

I made the coolest straw ever, but it didn't work as well as I'd hoped.

Playing Catch Up

My adorable little niece turned 3 years old on August 11th! She is such a cute girly! She had a Phineas and Ferb birthday party, (but sadly Shane and I missed it because of work.) We gave her a guitar that looks like a dog, it's pretty much awesome and I may or may not have played with it a lot before giving it to her.

Last week I'd been having a rough day, and when I got home from work I found my husband with some Diet Coke, movie tickets, and flowers! Isn't he the greatest? We saw Step Up 4, (something I'd been wanting to see for a while.) It was exactly what is expected of a 4th movie - bad acting and crap story line. HOWEVER, it's worth seeing just for the dancing, which is incredible!

Shane and I both work between 55 and 60 hours a week, and it blows! We were so spoiled when we first got married! We made great money and never worked nights or weekends, but things have changed now and sadly, we only get 2-3 nights a week together. So when we do have a night off we like to go on dates! Usually they consist of dinner at Sizzler and a movie. It's not much, but it's enough for us. (And the food at Sizzler is the best! Shane always gets the steak and endless and shrimp, while I get grilled salmon and rice. It's an amazing meal, especially for the price!!)

Shane and I love art and colors, so the other day we bought some canvases, painter's tape, and paint. We painted some awesome pictures to hang once we're in our new place. Unfortunately, the only picture I have of them right now is while we were painting them. I will post a picture of the finished products once I take one.

We get bored of the same things fast, so over the weekend we moved our family room to the bedroom and bedroom to the family room. It's awesome and we figured, why not?? If we don't do it now, we never will!

Rain Rain Go Away

I was so excited today because Shane and I had plans to go to Seven Peaks Water Park after he gets off work today. About an hour ago, the skies began to look like this:
And then the rain began. Thunder, lightning, raindrops the size of tennis balls. . . Bummer!! Call us crazy, but we're praying for a miracle. It is now 3:57pm and we aren't arriving there until around 5:15pm. We're still going to try to go. Hopefully the skies will clear up because this is the only day this week we can go.

Rain rain go away, come back a day I don't have any fun plans!

Freaky Friday

Well, it's Friday the 13th. . .

Dun Dun Dun!!

In celebration of this day, here are 13 facts about Friday the 13th:

  • There are 3 Friday the 13th days this year; January 13th, April 13th, and July 13th. No big deal, right? Wrong. Each 13th is exactly 13 weeks apart. This hasn't happened since 1984!
  • Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of the number 13.
  • Next time you go to a big hotel or hospital, look for floor 13. Oh you can't find it? That's probably because it's not there! They avoid 13th floors because people can be so superstitious.
  • The next year we will have 3 Friday the 13th days will be in 2015. They will fall in February, March, and November.
  • Think your Friday the 13th is bad?  Be glad yours wasn't like this: On Friday, Oct. 13, 1307, officers of King Philip IV of France raided the homes of thousands of these Crusades warriors, imprisoning them on charges of illegal activities. Though the charges weren't proven, more than a hundred died of terrible torture. You may get seven years of bad luck, but at least you weren't tortured to death!
  • Alfred Hitchcock was born on the 13th - Friday, August 13, 1999 would have been his 100th birthday.
  • It is said that starting a trip on a Friday will bring misfortune. I believe this because my honeymoon started on a Friday, and we had quite a few misfortunes that vacation!
  • For pagans, 13 is actually a lucky number.
  • President Franklin D. Roosevelt avoided travel on the 13th day of any month, and would never host 13 guests at a meal.
  • Mark Twain once was the 13th guest at a dinner party. A friend warned him not to go. "It was bad luck," Twain later told the friend. "They only had food for 12."
  • The Stress Management Center and Phobia Institute in Asheville, N.C. offers therapy to help people overcome their fear of the freaky Friday.
  • More than 60 million people worldwide are affected by a fear of Friday the 13th. This fear causes these people to not drive a car, leave the house, or even get out of bed.
  • According to superstition, if you cut your hair on Friday the 13th, someone in your family will die. (This makes me laugh, because as I am blogging at my parent's house, my mom just arrives home from getting a hair cut.)

So hold on to your rabbit foot, don't open umbrellas inside, don't walk under any ladders or go near a black cat, and have a nice day!

Mexican Riviera Cruise

So we went on our cruise with my family June 10 through the 17. It was one of the best vacations I have ever been on! Everyday we ate as if we would never be eating again, (we each gained 4ish pounds. . . not as bad as we thought we did, but WAY too much to gain in one week!!)

We went to many broadway style shows, comedy shows, and parties up on the deck.

In Cabo we went parasailing, snorkeling, and played in the ocean waves. It was a blast and made me want to live by the ocean!

In Puerto Vallarta we did 10 ziplines through the jungle, jumped off some rocks into water, (doesn't sound cool, but it was,) played with a baby alligator, went to a local fruit stand and ate some amazing fruit, did tons of shopping, and played on the beach.

The only things that sucked during the cruise was I fell down some stairs in Cabo and scraped up my leg, slipped and fell on a huge rock in Puerto Vallarta and bruised my knees and wrist, our second day in Cabo had to be cancelled due to weather conditions, and I got strep throat. Other than that, it was an awesome vacation. One that I will never forget!
