Here and There

It's hard working 8am -5pm when you're exhausted and don't feel well, not to mention I get to go to job #2 right after this one. I need to start getting to bed earlier.

It's October! What a great month! The leaves are changing, scary movies are coming out, corn mazes and pumpkin patches open, and the temperatures outside begin to drop. I love this month. I am so excited for hoodies, apple cider, and trick-or-treaters!

In November we are moving! Woo hoo! We're actually moving all of our things into a storage unit and then staying with my parents, but just until February. It's not what we had planned; the place we're going to move into was going to be available in December, and now it's not, but our lease will be up soon and we don't want to renew. So we're just going to crash at mom and dad's and save a few dollars before moving into our new place that we are so very excited for!

I love my husband! It's been almost a year since we got married and we have yet to have our first fight, or go a day without seeing each other since our first date. He makes me smile so easily, and he can always make me feel better when I'm grumpy or down. He has so much patience with me, I couldn't have married a better man! I cherish every moment we spend together. I just love Shane so much that I can't believe I haven't exploded because of all the love for him inside me!

Just A Few

Found a few pictures on my computer that I forgot about.
These were all taken in July this year.

We got bored one night so we decorated our eggs.

 Hanging out at grandma's house.

 Playing guitar.

I made the coolest straw ever, but it didn't work as well as I'd hoped.

My Deepest Apologies

I apologize for not being very interesting. Sometimes life gets in the way of fun, and sometimes people are just boring. Here are a few of the less boring, but still kinda boring things that have been going on in our lives and in my mind lately. Ready go!

  • Shane and I went on our first date a year ago yesterday! On August 9, 2011, Shane picked me up on his motorcycle and we went for a ride. After that we played hopscotch and swung on some swings for a little while. We then went for a walk and ended the night talking on my porch swing. Since that day, we have not gone a single day without seeing each other, (yes, we are THAT obsessed and in love.)
  • I read an article on yahoo.com about a lady who'd been having itching and aches in her ear, so she went to the doctor. When he looked in her ear, he discovered a spider had been living in it for FIVE DAYS!! Is that not the most disgusting thing?! THAT is why I sleep with hair over my ears. Oh gag.
  • I hate doctor bills. I feel like I've been to the doctor so much recently, (ovarian cysts, strep throat, etc.) and Shane has too, (abnormal bruising, trouble breathing, etc.) Nothing we've gone for has been too serious, but we have paid so much in doctor bills! They charge for everything at the doctor! I have decided we will no longer be going to the doctor unless there is a bone sticking out of our body!!
  • Shane and I love movies, even though they're a bit of a waste of money. We usually don't go to a lot in the theater, but for some reason we've been going quite a bit lately. We saw:
    • The Amazing Spiderman: It was amazing. Andrew Garfield was well cast and actually looked the part! (People have complained that he's too skinny, but come on people! Spiderman isn't The Hulk, he's supposed to be a bit on the scrawny side.) Emma Stone was also fantastic in the movie. Her acting was full of emotion, I almost cried a couple times! And there was a scene after the credits that was intense, I hope no one missed that part!
    • The Dark Knight Rises: I wasn't sure if I was going to like this because I didn't really like the other two. However, I am very into dark and violent movies, and this was just that! My favorite thing about the movie was Tom Hardy. I didn't even realize he was Bane at first, I was just obsessed with how awesome his voice sounded. It was a great movie and a must see!
    • Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days: This movie was hilarious, if you're into these types of movies. If you didn't like the other two, don't waste your time. Shane and I happen to love Diary of A Wimpy Kid and we found this one just as funny and entertaining as the others.
    • Total Recall: A lot of people have been raving about how great this movie is, but I wasn't impressed. I even dozed off in the first little bit, (if you like simplicity, this movie is not for you.) I felt a lot of the scenes were complicated and tired my brain. I also wasn't too thrilled about the nudity. A lady with three boobs is not something I like to see, and now it's burned into my brain. It was so random and had nothing to do with the movie, it would have been better without.
  • Pandora is saving my life at work right now. Both my bosses are out of town, so it's just me in the office. I don't mind being alone, but nine hours of it not at home isn't that great. If I didn't have Pandora to listen to my folk music, I think I'd lose it.
  • Our apartment's lease is up in November and we are stoked because we hate the apartments we live in. We have a place in mind that we want to move to, but it may not work out. If it doesn't, we'll try to move to some apartments closer to our day jobs. But apartments are ridiculously expensive now!! We can't find anything for under $800 month. It's such a joke. If anyone knows of anywhere that is pretty decent and less than $800 a month in West Valley City, Taylorsville, West Jordan, or South Jordan, please let us know! We would greatly appreciate it!
Well that's about all I have to say for right now. . . so. . . The end?

New Job

Hello world!

I got a new job as an office assistant for a company called Dura-Tuff Wear Products! I give quotes and take orders for grouser bar, file a lot of different things, open mail, and do everything I'm told. I work with really fun people in a stress free environment and I am learning all about bulldozers and Microsoft Excel!

This job came just when we needed it most, and we couldn't be more grateful.
See the bars on the shoes of the bulldozer? We sell those bars to companies all over the world, so that they can spend a couple thousand on bars to weld onto the shoes instead of spending ten times as much buying completely new shoes.

Lazy Pants

I may or may not be writing this post on my husband's tablet. . . okay I am, and I love the clicky noise it makes every time I type a letter. So fun.

I feel like a fatty pants. It's hard to eat healthy when you only have the money to grocery shop every couple of months. Anyone know of any healthier nonperishable foods? Help this lady out!

I love my new job! It's only part time and I am still looking for a full time job, but it works for now. I work at the Sizzler at The District, feel free to come visit me! The food is so flipping good and the people I work with are just fantastic! I feel so happy at work!

Shane is SnoresMcgee tonight holy cow.

I can't wait until we can move somewhere that has internet. I would love to use my laptop once in a while.

Only working part time is so boring. I feel so lazy all the time. if anyone ever wants to just hang out during the day sometime please call/text/message/hit me. I would love a reason to get out of bed before 2pm, and I could use a few friends.

Time Wasting

I understand that I have been writing a million and one blog posts in the past two days, but people! It's because I get bored. I also have a hard time sleeping at night, which is why this post is currently getting written at 1:48am.

I found these questions on a pinterest post and I thought they might be fun to answer. If you're as bored as I am, go ahead and keep reading. If you have better things to do, do them. I don't want to be wasting anyone's time here. (You have been warned!)

The husband just rolled over in his sleep and sprawled himself out over my back. It's cute, but it makes it a rather difficult to type.

Oh he moved!

Now, let's get down to business. There are 30 questions to answer, but that is way too many and I guarantee I can't keep anyone interested long enough to actually read the whole thing. So I am going to choose my favorite five. Here we go now!

  1. Describe your relationship with your parents. My relationship with my parents used to be nonexistent. I wanted nothing to do with them, I didn't like being around them, they annoyed me. Now let me tell you, I only felt this way because I was a brat. I was snooty and defiant, and that made it hard for us to get along. I moved out in 2010 and quickly, very quickly, I realized just how much my parents did for me and that this whole time, my entire life, I was wrong about them! They are amazing people who do what they do because they really do love me! They really do know best, they're not just saying that! So, since moving out my relationship with my parents has grown, and grown, and continues to grow. I have to be honest; besides Shane, my parents are my best friends. They are the first to know anything and I spend just as much time at their house as I do my own. I love my parents, and I love the example they have set for me. I appreciate everything they've done for me and everything they continue to do for Shane and I. I hope one day we can do as much for them as they do for us. I couldn't have asked for better parents, I feel like the luckiest kid in the world.
  2. What is the thing you wish you were most great at? Oh man there are a few things I wish I could be so awesome at. I don't have very many talents, but there are so many I wish I had. I think the one I would want most is to be able to sing. I have loved singing since I could talk. Whenever my mom pulled out the video camera growing up, I'd find my way in front of the lens and sing, "I'm Gonna Be A Mighty King." I sing everywhere; at home, in the shower, in the car, while I cook, while I clean, etc. I love to sing and I would love to perform for people if I had the voice. That would really be my dream coming true. People who can sing are awesome. Really.
  3. What is your favorite part of your body and why? Oh this one is easy. My nose. I love my nose, specifically the hump. My mom is from New Zealand, so there is some Maori blood in my family. My older brother and younger sister got the Maori skin and my older sister got the Maori hair. My little brother at least got the Maori hair color, I didn't even get that. The one thing I did get though, was the big Maori nose. And I love it.
  4. What are 2 weaknesses and 2 strengths that you have? Weakness A: I am extremely sensitive. You give me the wrong look and I'll go home in tears. I take most everything the wrong way and I get hurt easier than anyone I know. Strength A: I am very forgiving. Weakness B: I can't do conflict. I will agree with anyone outloud even if I don't agree in my head just to avoid conflict. Strength B: I am very understanding. I can easily put myself in someone else's shoes and immediately love them because I can see the good in them and ignore the few bad things.
  5. What is your biggest pet peeve? Bad spelling, need I say more?

Who Farted?

I have a headache right now. I think it may be because I haven't had caffeine today. Oh gosh, I never wanted to be "that" person. . . .My name is Candice, and I am an addict.

Shane and I recently started watching a new television series on Netflix. Bob's Burgers. Heard of it? Didn't think so. It's a pretty hilarious cartoon, but word of caution: sometimes it has adult jokes in it. It makes us laugh, and it features the voice of the lovely Kristen Schaal, also known as Mel from Flight of the Conchords.

Story time! We got home from our cruise almost two weeks ago - and time is flying! . . .Anyway, I didn't take my phone with me on the trip, so when we got home I checked my messages. I had one from the lady I worked for. Some family things had come up and turns out. . . they didn't need me anymore. So I get home from vacation and find out I am jobless. So sad. They are an amazing family and I really love them. I was so upset, but I understand that family needs come first. So for the past two weeks I have been job searching. I got a job at a restaurant that I will work at full time until I can get a day job, and then I will only work the restaurant at night, (I love working.) So if anyone knows of anywhere hiring, please do let me know! It would be so greatly appreciated, as we kind of really need an income from me.

I've always wanted to call 911, but I never have. I hope one day I get to. I also hope that when I do, whatever it's for, ends well.

Pretty sure Shane and I can be a pretty fun couple, once you get to know us and our awkward slash shy stage is over with. We do love people, most of the time. I promise we do.

Say "slash shy" out loud. It sounds weird. It almost sounds like a dance move. Everybody do the slash-shy!

So many people are having babies! I love it! I especially love the baby blogs, they are so fun to read! Word of advice if you're pregnant: Make a baby blog because I want to read them!

Excuse my husband, he just farted.

The main reason I'm writing this post is because I don't really have much else to do. . . because I don't have a life. . . or a job. . . and I like to write. . . And I need a job!

Ending a blog post is always awkward for me.

Internet. Too. Slow.

I have a certain amount of fast internet I get each month.

That's what I get for having internet through T-Mobile.

I love being online.

It gets used up fairly quickly.

Tomorrow my month starts over.

That means fast internet again.

Will be blogging more tomorrow.

I miss my blog.

Typical Day

Well there's not much to do at work while the little man is napping, so I decided to write a blog post. I do love blogging, the only problem is, my life is not that exciting. Most of what happens is not blog worthy, (which is why I have less than two frequent readers, meaning I have one reader, me.) I'm not social, I don't have friends, I don't have money to do exciting and expensive things. My life has got to be one of the most boring lives out there, (the only thing that is exciting about it is my amazing husband. He's the greatest!) I don't know how else to explain to you just how boring my life is, but to write you out a schedule showing a typical day for me.

4:50am Three annoying alarms go off, so Shane and I say our prayers and then shower. He gets ready for work and leaves, and I go back to bed.

8:00am-10:00am (Depending on what time I work.) Stumble out of bed and do hair and makeup. Eat either fruit loops or a smoothie, put shoes on and leave the apartment.

I then stop at the gas station for a diet coke, (yes, I am an addict.)

Drive to work in Pleasant Grove, singing at the top of my lungs. I get nervous about the construction making me late so I always leave an hour early for work, even though it takes 40 minutes on average to get there. When I arrive early, I park around the corner and play on my phone until it's time to work.

12:00pm Let's say today I work at noon. So I arrive and give the little boy I watch his lunch. We then watch an episode of Curious George while playing with cars. We sometimes color and do puzzles, and we always read books. If it's nice weather we go for a walk or swing.

2:45pm Pick the other boy I watch up from school in Lehi. Sometimes we stop on the way home for a treat, but most often we just drive back to Pleasant Grove.

4:00pm Help the older boy with his homework while the other boy watches Chuggington and plays with cars some more.

4:30pm I discuss tomorrow's schedule with the lady I work for and I drive home.

5:30pm Greet my sleepy husband at home and then make dinner. We're not amazing cooks. We usually have riceroni, pizza benders, saimen (sp??) or salad.

6:30pm If it's nice weather Shane and I ride bikes outside.

7:00pm Either watch several tv shows or a movie. We also tidy things up around this time.

8:30pm Get ready for bed.

9:00pm Read scriptures and pray. Shane goes to sleep. I then stay up and play on my phone or watch a movie until around 1:30am when I finally drift off.

Exciting day right? No, we're a boring couple.

But we're so in love. And boring works for us. Yes. :)

I'm sorry you wasted time reading such a dumb post. Now go do something productive.

Sunday

Shane and I were able to spend the Sunday sessions of General Conference with my family, and it was a blast! A couple years ago my mom came up with Conference Bingo to keep us kids awake and listening, and it stuck, so we do it every year now. It was extra fun to do with Shane there, since pretty much every prize he won was candy, he shared it all with me! (How sweet is he?!)

In between the sessions, my little sister and I decided we wanted to do Shane's hair. It started with straightening, and ended in a faux hawk. (Man, my future husband is hot!)

So the talks were great, weren't they!? I will admit we both might have dozed off during the afternoon session, but we did listen to the morning one! (Monson's talk was great, and I love that he quoted The Beatles!!)

After Conference ended, we had a late lunch/dinner, and it was so so delicious! We ate and ate and ate. . .and then we ate candy.

We then watched a Mormon movie. I loved it, but Shane says I owe him. . . . I guess it was pretty bad acting. Anyway, during the movie, somehow we started trying to give each other a wet willy. That turned into a big wrestling match that my mom thought would make some great photos.

All in all it was a pretty amazing day. I love my fiance, and look so forward to spending many Sundays just like this one with him.
