Staying Awake

I found carters.com. It taught me that girl clothes are cuter than boy clothes! I also learned that you can make a wish list on that site, and mine is a mile long.

I am so tired of working two jobs, but I have to keep it up! Not because we need the money, but because I haven't decided where I'll be working after the baby is born. Until I decide that, I can't quit either job. (frown.)

Turkey avocado sandwiches are the most amazing sandwiches and I can't eat enough of them right now!

Why is it that I want to sleep all day long, but once bedtime comes all I want to do is watch Breaking Bad?

What will our baby's name be? Hmmmm, baby names. . .baby names. . . maybe Rylee, Tyson, Amanda, Gage, Holly, Evan, Emma, Stephen, Pearl, Adam, Avery, Trey, Selena, Asher, Jenna, Xavier, Wendy, Oliver, Adriana, Leavitt, Bailee, Jaden, Karli, or Marvin. . .

. . . Just kidding. We already have a girl and boy name picked out. I may tell it to you in person, but I'm not posting it online just yet.

I hope if I ever get jury duty it's for something good! Maybe not a murder, but attempted murder or arson, that would be pretty cool!

I really don't know what to write about. My eyes, MY EYES, are trying to shut, but I have to keep telling them to stay the heck open because I'm at work and this is NO time for naps!

Here and There

It's hard working 8am -5pm when you're exhausted and don't feel well, not to mention I get to go to job #2 right after this one. I need to start getting to bed earlier.

It's October! What a great month! The leaves are changing, scary movies are coming out, corn mazes and pumpkin patches open, and the temperatures outside begin to drop. I love this month. I am so excited for hoodies, apple cider, and trick-or-treaters!

In November we are moving! Woo hoo! We're actually moving all of our things into a storage unit and then staying with my parents, but just until February. It's not what we had planned; the place we're going to move into was going to be available in December, and now it's not, but our lease will be up soon and we don't want to renew. So we're just going to crash at mom and dad's and save a few dollars before moving into our new place that we are so very excited for!

I love my husband! It's been almost a year since we got married and we have yet to have our first fight, or go a day without seeing each other since our first date. He makes me smile so easily, and he can always make me feel better when I'm grumpy or down. He has so much patience with me, I couldn't have married a better man! I cherish every moment we spend together. I just love Shane so much that I can't believe I haven't exploded because of all the love for him inside me!

New Job

Hello world!

I got a new job as an office assistant for a company called Dura-Tuff Wear Products! I give quotes and take orders for grouser bar, file a lot of different things, open mail, and do everything I'm told. I work with really fun people in a stress free environment and I am learning all about bulldozers and Microsoft Excel!

This job came just when we needed it most, and we couldn't be more grateful.
See the bars on the shoes of the bulldozer? We sell those bars to companies all over the world, so that they can spend a couple thousand on bars to weld onto the shoes instead of spending ten times as much buying completely new shoes.

Batman

I have salsa chicken cooking in the crockpot, and it's making the apartment smell amazing!

I went boating with my family yesterday. I did my favorite, slolum-skiing, but I also learned how to surf behind the boat! And later after, Jeffrey, my brother, and I went on the tube together. We got some good air, but we weren't able to go for too long because the bottom of the tube had a hole in it so it was flat, and it made our butts numb.

I forgot to wear sunscreen yesterday, I'm in pain today.

I'm spending today watching Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, those are the titles, right? I'm going to the newest Batman tonight at 7pm with our best friends, Sean and Melanie and Caity and Ben. I want to know what's going on tonight so I decided I should probably watch these films now.

I finally got a full time job! I am going to be an office assistant for a company called Dura-Tuff Wear Products. They sell grouser bar for bulldozers to people around the world. I start July 30th, and I am so excited!

Even though I got the new job, I am going to continue working at Sizzler part time. I love it too much to quit.

Shane's birthday is next week, and I can't wait! I have a few things planned, I hope it all goes well!

Lazy Pants

I may or may not be writing this post on my husband's tablet. . . okay I am, and I love the clicky noise it makes every time I type a letter. So fun.

I feel like a fatty pants. It's hard to eat healthy when you only have the money to grocery shop every couple of months. Anyone know of any healthier nonperishable foods? Help this lady out!

I love my new job! It's only part time and I am still looking for a full time job, but it works for now. I work at the Sizzler at The District, feel free to come visit me! The food is so flipping good and the people I work with are just fantastic! I feel so happy at work!

Shane is SnoresMcgee tonight holy cow.

I can't wait until we can move somewhere that has internet. I would love to use my laptop once in a while.

Only working part time is so boring. I feel so lazy all the time. if anyone ever wants to just hang out during the day sometime please call/text/message/hit me. I would love a reason to get out of bed before 2pm, and I could use a few friends.

Advice, eh?

So I went down memory lane and read some old posts from my previous blog here, and I came to the conclusion that I used to be a lot more interesting than I am now. Bummer.

There are seven fires currently going on in Utah right now. I'm not kidding and they're not small! Utah is a blazing orange! I was so happy to have such a dry winter, but now seeing what it's doing to not only Utah, but the surrounding states as well, I don't think I'll ever wish for no snow again!

Shane and I have been house sitting and babysitting Chip for my parents while they're camping, and it's been a blast! (I want a dog!) I love spending time with the little pup. He's just adorable!

I had my orientation today at Sizzler, and Tuesday I start training. I didn't get the server position I wanted, but that's ok because I can work towards the position. It seems like a great company and I am excited to work for them. I'll be working there as much as I can until I can find a day time job. Once I get a day job Sizzler will be moved to nights.

We're going to see the new Spiderman with our fun friends Caity and Ben next week. We're excited, the previews look awesome so it'd better be good!

I went to a baby shower today for my high school friend Kenzie. She looked great, I love her little belly!! She got some of the cutest things, her little boy is always going to look so darling!! Seeing all the baby things made me so excited to be a mom one day. Baby things are just so precious and tiny!! I love it all!

So this is crappy, but since being married I've gained a few pounds, (as you may have noticed if you've seen me recently. Blah.) I'm trying to get healthy again, and holy cow it is not easy! I began calorie counting with this and it wasn't too bad this week. But today hit and I was just so hungry, I stupidly made Saturday my "cheat day." Bad decision. I have been eating everything in sight!! Help! Does anyone have any tips on losing weight and developing healthy habits?? I need I need!!

Who Farted?

I have a headache right now. I think it may be because I haven't had caffeine today. Oh gosh, I never wanted to be "that" person. . . .My name is Candice, and I am an addict.

Shane and I recently started watching a new television series on Netflix. Bob's Burgers. Heard of it? Didn't think so. It's a pretty hilarious cartoon, but word of caution: sometimes it has adult jokes in it. It makes us laugh, and it features the voice of the lovely Kristen Schaal, also known as Mel from Flight of the Conchords.

Story time! We got home from our cruise almost two weeks ago - and time is flying! . . .Anyway, I didn't take my phone with me on the trip, so when we got home I checked my messages. I had one from the lady I worked for. Some family things had come up and turns out. . . they didn't need me anymore. So I get home from vacation and find out I am jobless. So sad. They are an amazing family and I really love them. I was so upset, but I understand that family needs come first. So for the past two weeks I have been job searching. I got a job at a restaurant that I will work at full time until I can get a day job, and then I will only work the restaurant at night, (I love working.) So if anyone knows of anywhere hiring, please do let me know! It would be so greatly appreciated, as we kind of really need an income from me.

I've always wanted to call 911, but I never have. I hope one day I get to. I also hope that when I do, whatever it's for, ends well.

Pretty sure Shane and I can be a pretty fun couple, once you get to know us and our awkward slash shy stage is over with. We do love people, most of the time. I promise we do.

Say "slash shy" out loud. It sounds weird. It almost sounds like a dance move. Everybody do the slash-shy!

So many people are having babies! I love it! I especially love the baby blogs, they are so fun to read! Word of advice if you're pregnant: Make a baby blog because I want to read them!

Excuse my husband, he just farted.

The main reason I'm writing this post is because I don't really have much else to do. . . because I don't have a life. . . or a job. . . and I like to write. . . And I need a job!

Ending a blog post is always awkward for me.

A Few Things

SO glad I have fast internet again so I can blog! I love blogging, not because I want others to read what I write, (although I do appreciate the few readers,) but because this is kind of like a diary to me. I like to share fun and important things that happen in my life so that I can look back and remember these times.

I love my job. I know I say that so much, but I really do. I work with an amazing family who is so fun and easy to work with. It doesn't even feel like work, the kids are adorable and I love spending time with them! In the past couple weeks we have gone to the park, the Aquarium, Southtowne Mall (for the carousel,) Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point (they have tons of baby animals right now,) and the Discovery Gateway Children's Museum, (and it is so much fun!) I feel so blessed to have found a job that I enjoy and that makes me feel happy.

I went boating for the first time this year with my brother, sister, and dad, and I am so disappointed in myself! I could NOT get up on the slollum ski. It was so frustrating because in the past seven years I have NEVER had a problem getting up. Here's what I think it was; I did the wakeboard first and for a very long time. I got my arms tired, and I got used to popping right up. When you slollum, it takes a bit to get up, you have to let it pull you up. So, next time we go boating, I am going to slollum first!

Shane and I went to the midnight showing of The Avengers, and of course we thought it was awesome! Shane even went to it again the next day with his brother.

For the past eight years my family has had a miniature schnauzer named Dodger. Dodger had anxiety, so he was always, and I mean always, barking. He was also moody and snapped at you very easily. Besides that though, he was a good dog. I struggled a lot with different things, especially in high school, and when I felt most alone he was always there to cuddle with me and love me. He slept with me every night, and when I moved out, anytime I'd come visit he'd go hysterical loving me. I loved him more than most anything. In the past year Dodger's anxiety had become unbearable. He was hard for my family to live with and so they talked to a friend of ours, who is a vet, on what to do with him. He said that when you give a dog to a shelter, it traumatizes the dog and hurts him more than does him good. So after much thought, my parents felt it was best to put him down. They took him in Thursday and we all found out about it yesterday. It sucks, as losing pet always does, but it's ok because he's happier now than he was and well, all dogs go to heaven. I miss him a lot though, and can't wait until I get to see him again.

Our cruise is in less than a month, and I can't wait! That's all.

Typical Day

Well there's not much to do at work while the little man is napping, so I decided to write a blog post. I do love blogging, the only problem is, my life is not that exciting. Most of what happens is not blog worthy, (which is why I have less than two frequent readers, meaning I have one reader, me.) I'm not social, I don't have friends, I don't have money to do exciting and expensive things. My life has got to be one of the most boring lives out there, (the only thing that is exciting about it is my amazing husband. He's the greatest!) I don't know how else to explain to you just how boring my life is, but to write you out a schedule showing a typical day for me.

4:50am Three annoying alarms go off, so Shane and I say our prayers and then shower. He gets ready for work and leaves, and I go back to bed.

8:00am-10:00am (Depending on what time I work.) Stumble out of bed and do hair and makeup. Eat either fruit loops or a smoothie, put shoes on and leave the apartment.

I then stop at the gas station for a diet coke, (yes, I am an addict.)

Drive to work in Pleasant Grove, singing at the top of my lungs. I get nervous about the construction making me late so I always leave an hour early for work, even though it takes 40 minutes on average to get there. When I arrive early, I park around the corner and play on my phone until it's time to work.

12:00pm Let's say today I work at noon. So I arrive and give the little boy I watch his lunch. We then watch an episode of Curious George while playing with cars. We sometimes color and do puzzles, and we always read books. If it's nice weather we go for a walk or swing.

2:45pm Pick the other boy I watch up from school in Lehi. Sometimes we stop on the way home for a treat, but most often we just drive back to Pleasant Grove.

4:00pm Help the older boy with his homework while the other boy watches Chuggington and plays with cars some more.

4:30pm I discuss tomorrow's schedule with the lady I work for and I drive home.

5:30pm Greet my sleepy husband at home and then make dinner. We're not amazing cooks. We usually have riceroni, pizza benders, saimen (sp??) or salad.

6:30pm If it's nice weather Shane and I ride bikes outside.

7:00pm Either watch several tv shows or a movie. We also tidy things up around this time.

8:30pm Get ready for bed.

9:00pm Read scriptures and pray. Shane goes to sleep. I then stay up and play on my phone or watch a movie until around 1:30am when I finally drift off.

Exciting day right? No, we're a boring couple.

But we're so in love. And boring works for us. Yes. :)

I'm sorry you wasted time reading such a dumb post. Now go do something productive.

My Dream Job

Don't make fun of me, but ever since I saw the movie The Nanny Diaries, I have always wanted to become a nanny. I also love children and I want to be around them all the time! I've done preschools, day cares, summer camps, etc. but I have never been a nanny. I guess I've just never had the opportunity. So when I quit my job in March I felt this was my chance to try to nanny, and if I don't do it now I never will. So I put myself on an amazing website called care.com, (I highly recommend it to anyone interested in child care,) and found an amazing family with two adorable little kids! I started working for them this week and I love it! I have never seen cuter boys before in my life and they are so fun to play with! The parents are also great; very easy to communicate with and I feel very comfortable with them. I am so blessed to have found this family; I know it was an answer to my prayers, and I am so excited to work for them for hopefully a long time!
I love that I can say I love my job again!!

Nowadays

A few things have happened since I last updated my blog:
  • I am no longer a blonde. I wanted to dye my hair, and I thought if I don't do it now, I never will. So I set up an appointment and I just did it! I like it, and I don't regret it.
  • Shane and I picked out the kind of dog we want. Of course we won't be getting one until we have a house years and years from now, but it's still fun to think about. I want a dog so bad it's not even funny, so dreaming about him helps. One day, we're going to get a super cute labradoodle! We researched them and everything about them is perfect for us.
  • Of course right after getting married and becoming poor, we start having doctor bills haha. (Isn't that how it always happens?) In January Shane started having trouble breathing. It was not good, so he went to a doctor for it and had to get an inhaler. (This wasn't a big surprise because we already knew he has asthma, we were just relieved it wasn't anything more than that.) In February I started getting really bad stomach pains. They were so bad I was dry heaving and feeling nauseous all the time. After a few days of that not going away, we saw a doctor. We found out it was nothing serious, I just had an ovarian cyst that had ruptured. It's a pretty normal thing, but oh man it is so painful I hope it never happens again. Anyway as of now, Shane and I are in good health! We are crossing our fingers for no more doctor bills!
  • I am jobless. I loved where I worked and I loved the clients that I worked with. They were amazing and I learned so much from them. But after a lot of prayer, thinking about it, and talking it over with Shane, we decided it's best if I quit. There were a lot of reasons behind why I felt I needed to quit, but I don't think they're all that relevant. Let's just say it was very stressful, emotionally overwhelming, and a bit unorganized. So I am looking for a new job now. Hoping to find somewhere I can do what I've wanted to my whole life, work with kids.
  • The weather is so nice Shane has been riding Ruby! He took me for a ride Saturday and Sunday and it was wonderful. I can't wait for the weather to just keep getting warmer and warmer!
  • Shane and I get to go on a cruise with my family in June! We are so excited it is just ridiculous! Can't even wait, except that we have to, but we don't want to!
That's about it for now. I am not even sure how to end blog posts sometimes. . . . uh. . . ?
