I'm Still In Love!

It's been one year since our wedding. Holy cow! Time has flown!

I am so in love with my handsome husband and love spending time with him everyday! I love him more than the day we got married and continue to fall in love with him every single day! I can't imagine being this happy with anyone else, he makes me feel so special and loved and I am so extremely happy that I get to spend eternity with him! (He's also going to be the best daddy in the world and I am so happy he'll be the father of my children!)

For our anniversary, I got Shane a projector, (because we were at Black Friday and he saw it and begged for it,) and he got his hair cut for me AND he took me to Park City for the weekend! (Park City is one of my favorite places!) We relaxed, shopped, watched movies, and ate yummy food. It was such a great weekend and I just feel so loved and full of happy feelings!

We made bagel sandwiches in the car on the way up for lunch!

Nachos from Bandits!

 A garden burger from Bandits!

The kitchen sink was big enough to bathe in!

 Playing around in best Buy!

Shane wanted ice for his drink. Hahaha.

We both got a tostada from Baja Cantinas for our anniversary dinner.

Playing with the toy he bought.

 Happy first anniversary!

 I'm obsessed with wine glasses!

Shane got his projector when we got home!
(Doesn't his hair look fantastic??)

Such a great weekend, I wish it didn't have to end!

A Baby!?

Yes!

I am Pregnant!!

Shane and I found out when I was only 5 weeks along.

It wasn't a surprise because we were trying, but it was and still is super exciting!

I'm now 13 weeks,
due June 2, 2013!

We find out the gender on December 18th,
(I want a boy, Shane wants a girl, but we'll both be happy with whatever we get.)

I have no awesome ultrasound picture to show yet because the only one I've had was when I was 7 weeks, so you can't even tell it's a baby yet, (it looks like a jelly bean!)

We heard the heartbeat today, and while we were listening with the doppler, we heard a big thump. The doctor let us know that that was the baby kicking the doppler! (Awwww so cute!)

We can't wait to be parents!

Marriage

I love being married and I love my husband. I love going to sleep with him less than a foot away from me and I love being so happy. I really can't remember the last time I was this happy. (I think I was nine.)

Being married is great, people!

Love and marriage is sometimes a difficult topic to discuss. Before Shane and I got engaged, I hated talking to my married friends, (I still loved them though!!) I hated reading lovey nonsense on facebook, and I hated looking at pictures of couples who were so happy together. I hated it all because I was jealous. I wanted to have all that and I wanted to be in love.

A little before Shane and I started dating, I had completely sworn off boys. I had my guy friends, but I was refusing to let myself get involved with anyone. I kept telling myself over and over that I loved being single, hoping that if I said it enough, it would come true. I was done with relationships. In my previous blog, www.myfishmonster.blogspot.com (it's still there,) I had even written about how awesome being independent and single was. I wrote:

"I am single. I have realized that this is exactly what I need to be truly happy. I need to be FREE. I need to let myself do what I want and not worry about anything else. I don't want any commitments with anyone. I want to be my own self, worry about my own self, and have fun for once."

Oh how wrong I was! I'm pretty sure I made God laugh with this, because two months after I wrote this, Shane showed up in my life. And man. . . our relationship moved FAST! We went on dates every night, (I kid you not, we still have yet to go a day without seeing each other,) we became exclusive within ten days, we began talking about marriage two weeks into our relationship, and on September tenth, one month and one day after our first date, we got engaged. We sealed the deal on December first.

Doesn't that sound scary?? Moving that fast, hooooly crap! I always told myself I would never even consider marriage until I'd been dating the guy for a year. I had dated seriously before Shane. . . my longest relationship lasted over three years, but I never felt the way about him that I do about Shane. When people say, "When you know, you just know," they are not kidding! Shane and I had both prayed and fasted about our big decision, and we knew it was right.

Love is unexpected, and it really does come when you least expect it. I love Shane more than anything in this world and I know that he feels the same way about me. We are a perfect match, and we couldn't be happier than we are now.

I love love, but I love my husband mostest.

How to be Happy

Okay, I will admit it. I have always struggled with being happy. I am not social, I am not outgoing, I am not a genius or exciting person. I often look at the negative things and forget the simple yet amazing things around me. I focus and worry too much about what others think about me instead of having fun. Being happy comes so easy for some people, but for me, it's a lot of work.

That being said, I feel the need to make a list. A list of things that make me happy. A list I can look back to when I'm struggling or just feeling down. But the list can't be too complicated, too thought out. The simpler, the better. So here we go. A list of 10 (because no one wants to read more than that,) things that make me happy.

1. The obvious, my husband. He works so hard to make sure I am happy. I need to acknowledge and appreciate him more often, for he is so good to me and loves me so much. I love him too you know.
 2. My family. They do so much for me. My parents are always giving me advice, my brothers and sisters are always so willing to hang out or just chat with me, and my nieces who get so excited every time I see them. I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life.
3. Crafting, AKA The Wood Connection and Hobby Lobby. I love painting, I love mod podge, and I love ribbon. Making crafts make me happy. Especially when the project is finished and I love it. (See the 'Randall' in the picture? Yeah I made that.)
4. Homemade pizza. Especially when my man puts messages on it.
5. An awesome pair of shoes. Shoes always fit, shoes always look good. Shoes aren't depressing when you have to go up a size, even if it is just because that brand runs small.
6. Warm weather. The warmer, the better. There are so many good things to do in warm weather; picnics, bike rides, boating, etc. Pure bliss it is.
7. Entertainment. I love music; The Weepies, Joshua Radin, Mika, etc. I love movies; 500 Days of Summer, Like Crazy, I'm Reed Fish, etc. I love TV; Malcolm in The Middle, Grounded for Life, Community, etc. Entertainment is good.
8. Vacations. They can be last minute, planned forever, far away or really close. I don't care. A vacation is a vacation. They are always adventurous.
9. Making treats. I haven't done anything in a very very long time, (awww that makes me sad.) But I love chocolate dipping and decorating things. See that picture down there? Those are plain wafer cookies that I did all by myself. Not pro, but not bad.
10. Diet Coke, need I say more?
Well that wasn't simple at all. I apologize for the lengthiness.

Our Baby!

We got a new car! His name is Finnegan, he's a raisin colored (not purple,) 2009 Nissan Cube, and I love him. I get to drive him most of the time because we got rid of Molly (my Aveo.) We still have Saffron (the Sentra,) and Shane's motorcycle Ruby, so he drives those. Finn is a great car and we couldn't be happier with him!

The apartment!

We love our little apartment! We're not finished decorating, there are a few more things we'd like to hang and put in different places, but we're proud of what we do have done.

First half of our family room. The DVDs are all in alphabetical order! Above the TV is our Vegas shelf.

The other half of our family room.

 Our little work station.

My aunt Jessica made this chalkboard for us, we love it!

Our table, thanks again to the Pike's for giving it to us! We eat on it almost every night! And I do love the whale!

Our shelves. Melanie made the beautiful temple picture for us for Christmas.

We're going for a red and yellow themed kitchen. . . it'll be easier to do once we have a house.

 Our awesome cookie jar!

The magnet that helps us know if the dishes are clean or dirty!

the bedroom. Notice we don't use normal pillows. . . ha.

The other half of the bedroom.

Our bookcase. . . it's just for looks.

Yes, we do have a disco ball in the bedroom!

We have a handicap parking sign above the toilet, a magazine rack with comic books in it, and the most colorful shower curtain we could find.

The Poopie list that's hanging in our bathroom.

 Our door to the bathroom.

The wreath I made for our door.

Newlyweds

We love each other so much and have so much fun together! Getting married to an amazing man who cares so much about me and shows it everyday has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I look so forward to spending the rest of forever with Shane!
