Pregnancy Bladder

I got to hear baby Val's heartbeat yesterday! I can tell she's going to be cute, because even her heartbeat sounds adorable!

Anyway, story time!

Yesterday after leaving the doctor's office I ran home to grab some food before leaving for work. I grabbed a piece of bread with some peanut butter on it, a banana, and a bag of grapes, (threw those in my purse for an afternoon snack.) I  had parked my car in the driveway instead of pulling into the garage since I'd only be home for a minute, (stupid decision.) The driveway hadn't been shoveled yet so there was a good two inches of snow covering it. I figured I'd be safe because it was snow, not ice. Big mistake! Just as I was getting to my car, my legs whipped out from under me and I fell flat on my butt. My banana slid out of my hand and got buried into the snow, but I somehow managed to save my bread! I called my doctor just to make sure baby would be ok, (and she will be.) But okay now here is where the story gets funny: I was really wet from the snow, but I figured it was only snow so I'd be fine going to work how I was. I was about ten minutes from work when I realized it was not only snow, but my weak pregnancy bladder had caused some. . .uh. . .yeah you know! (Stupid bladder!) I turned around, drove the twenty minutes back to my house to change, and then, forever later, finally made it to work.

The lesson I learned from that experience: Always keep a change of clothes in my car and don't assume snow isn't slippery.

Because of the fall yesterday, I'm aching today. Sore hips, sore bottom, and I just feel achy and sore everywhere. I can't wait to get home and just relax and take it easy for the rest of the night, (thank goodness I don't work tonight!)

Happy Thoughts: Christmas Parties

I just now realized Christmas is only five days away. How exciting/stressful/crazy is that?? I am so excited to finish my Christmas shopping, (hopefully today,) wrap all my presents and put them under the tree! I love Christmas you guys. . . .

. . . But I didn't always. From around 2004-2010 I was not a fan of Holidays, at all. I hated decorating, I hated celebrating, I was the ultimate Grinch. Why I was this way I'll never know, I just was not a fan of Holidays! Once I had jobs, I begged to work holidays, (especially when I could work 10-12 hour shifts because of no school!) Holidays weren't holidays to me, they were days off of school, days I could make a little extra money.

So in 2010 things started changing. I moved out of my parents house for the first time and I began to realize something, I LIKED decorating my own place, I LIKED spending time with family, and I DIDN'T like working holidays! I guess once you're not around family 24/7 you actually enjoy the time you are with them! (Who knew?)

I'm a huge Holiday lover now! I try to go all out wanting to decorate, but the husband doesn't let me, (mostly because we don't exactly have the funds to decorate for every holiday,) I buy too many presents for too many people, (but it's just so fun,) and I get so excited for the littlest things, especially little parties.

But parties are a big deal. Someone spends a lot of time planning and preparing, so I try to go to all the parties, even if it's just for a little while. Shane and I weren't able to make it to his family party this year, (it was in Idaho and we can't take off work right now,) but that's ok. (There's always next year.) Tonight I have my work party for Sizzler, it should be fun! I'm bringing my little sister since Shane can't come, we're eating pizza, playing games, and just hanging out, (I love the Sizzler staff!) Tomorrow afternoon is my work party for Dura-Tuff. They're taking us out to lunch, giving us a gift, and then we get the afternoon off. (Sounds like a perfect party to me!) And that night is my family Christmas party! I look so forward to the party every year, I love spending time with my relatives, and we always have such good food and fun!

I just love Christmas, I love Christmas parties, I love Holidays. SO exciting this time of year is!

It's A Girl!

Our baby is so shy. She was sitting far back and wouldn't do anything for us, (this was our first time seeing her since she looked like a grain of rice.) When the ultrasound tech pushed on her with the wand thing, she even covered her eyes with her hands. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen!

With how shy baby was, we were sure we wouldn't be able to see any little privates. Luckily, she moved just enough that we could see in between her adorable, itty bitty legs, and she is a girl!

I wanted a boy and Shane wanted a girl, but I have felt since day one that baby was going to be a girl, and I was right! And just because I wanted a boy, doesn't mean I am not excited it's a girl! I can't wait! I get to dress her up, do her nails and hair, and play Barbies with her!

Valarie Violet Randall is on her way, June 2, 2013!!

Valarie is covering her eyes, can you tell?

 Her little girl parts!

She was SO shy, this was the best and only profile picture we could get of her!

Shane and I HAD to go buy her a few outfits!

Face Swapped

My little sister Brooklyn and I switched our faces. Can you tell?

Weekend Fun

This weekend was a pretty good one. We were able to have some fun, make a little money, and do a little relaxing.

Friday night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner with some friends. Their chicken wrap is amazing and Shane's appetizer sampler was really good too! The food was also a great price, (even though we forgot to use our coupon, dang it!) We will definitely be going there again soon!

Saturday I was able to relax during the day and work at night. work was a little stressful at first because we were short a lot of people, but we were so awesome we handled it like pros! Shane worked during the day and was supposed to get off at five, but he ended up working until nine, (poor guy works about 70 hours a week!!) I felt bad for him, but once I got home we went to bed early and got a good ten hours of sleep!

Sunday was one of my favorite friends from high school's homecoming. Brooke served in Uruguay for a year and a half and I missed her so much! She gave an amazing talk and spoke about a lot of things that really got me thinking and helped me with some things going on in my life at the moment. It was so good to see her again and say hi! I wish I would have had more time to talk with her, but she had a lot of people to reunite with. I'm sure we'll be having a dinner date some time with a few other friends in the near future.

Sunday night my family got to eat cake because my mom gave my dad a small surprise birthday party Saturday night! My dad is turning 50 years old on the 23rd of this month, he's such an old man!!!

And one last thing that has nothing to do with the weekend: We find out if the baby growing inside of me is a he or she in two, yes, TWO days!! I'm freaking out with excitement people!

Staying Awake

I found carters.com. It taught me that girl clothes are cuter than boy clothes! I also learned that you can make a wish list on that site, and mine is a mile long.

I am so tired of working two jobs, but I have to keep it up! Not because we need the money, but because I haven't decided where I'll be working after the baby is born. Until I decide that, I can't quit either job. (frown.)

Turkey avocado sandwiches are the most amazing sandwiches and I can't eat enough of them right now!

Why is it that I want to sleep all day long, but once bedtime comes all I want to do is watch Breaking Bad?

What will our baby's name be? Hmmmm, baby names. . .baby names. . . maybe Rylee, Tyson, Amanda, Gage, Holly, Evan, Emma, Stephen, Pearl, Adam, Avery, Trey, Selena, Asher, Jenna, Xavier, Wendy, Oliver, Adriana, Leavitt, Bailee, Jaden, Karli, or Marvin. . .

. . . Just kidding. We already have a girl and boy name picked out. I may tell it to you in person, but I'm not posting it online just yet.

I hope if I ever get jury duty it's for something good! Maybe not a murder, but attempted murder or arson, that would be pretty cool!

I really don't know what to write about. My eyes, MY EYES, are trying to shut, but I have to keep telling them to stay the heck open because I'm at work and this is NO time for naps!

I'm Still In Love!

It's been one year since our wedding. Holy cow! Time has flown!

I am so in love with my handsome husband and love spending time with him everyday! I love him more than the day we got married and continue to fall in love with him every single day! I can't imagine being this happy with anyone else, he makes me feel so special and loved and I am so extremely happy that I get to spend eternity with him! (He's also going to be the best daddy in the world and I am so happy he'll be the father of my children!)

For our anniversary, I got Shane a projector, (because we were at Black Friday and he saw it and begged for it,) and he got his hair cut for me AND he took me to Park City for the weekend! (Park City is one of my favorite places!) We relaxed, shopped, watched movies, and ate yummy food. It was such a great weekend and I just feel so loved and full of happy feelings!

We made bagel sandwiches in the car on the way up for lunch!

Nachos from Bandits!

 A garden burger from Bandits!

The kitchen sink was big enough to bathe in!

 Playing around in best Buy!

Shane wanted ice for his drink. Hahaha.

We both got a tostada from Baja Cantinas for our anniversary dinner.

Playing with the toy he bought.

 Happy first anniversary!

 I'm obsessed with wine glasses!

Shane got his projector when we got home!
(Doesn't his hair look fantastic??)

Such a great weekend, I wish it didn't have to end!

Playing Catch Up

I haven't posted any pictures in a long time.

Shane and puppy fell asleep together.

 We made caramel apples! Yummm!

My sister's cute family on Halloween!

Happy Halloween! (We don't do costumes.)

Sometimes when it's snowing out we like to get slurpees!

Trimester Two

The first trimester was not an easy one.

It's hard being told you're going to gain weight (when you really want to lose,)
and that you have to be ok with it.

I could barely function I was so tired all the time!

I had a constant fear of miscarrying.

I couldn't tell anyone!! (This killed me!)

I threw up every single Monday, the rest of the week was dry
heaving and feeling nauseous all day.

The only food that settled my stomach was potatoes.

Now I'm on my second trimester!

I wake up several times during the night, I never feel rested. . .
. . . so exhaustion is even worse now.

Nausea only hits late at night.

We finally told people we're expecting, YAY!

I'm still scared of miscarriage, but not as much as I was.

I haven't "popped" yet, I'm just getting chubby, (bummer.)

Fun Fact:

I have 15 other friends on facebook who are pregnant and due between March and July.

A Baby!?

Yes!

I am Pregnant!!

Shane and I found out when I was only 5 weeks along.

It wasn't a surprise because we were trying, but it was and still is super exciting!

I'm now 13 weeks,
due June 2, 2013!

We find out the gender on December 18th,
(I want a boy, Shane wants a girl, but we'll both be happy with whatever we get.)

I have no awesome ultrasound picture to show yet because the only one I've had was when I was 7 weeks, so you can't even tell it's a baby yet, (it looks like a jelly bean!)

We heard the heartbeat today, and while we were listening with the doppler, we heard a big thump. The doctor let us know that that was the baby kicking the doppler! (Awwww so cute!)

We can't wait to be parents!

Emotions

I went crazy last night.

I had worked 9 hours at my day job and had to go straight to my night job.

The traffic was terrible.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 came out and since my second job is right by the theater, it was near impossible to find a parking spot.

I was almost late, (and I am NEVER late!)

There were only three of us working when there should have been five, (we didn't realize it would be so busy, party after party of women. Stupid Twilight.)

I was scheduled 6-10pm. I didn't get off until 11:15pm.

The only good news: Shane came and visited me. He ate food and I was able to snack off of his plate while we waited for my food, (we ordered it to go so I could eat it when I got home.)

I ordered a malibu chicken and a california malibu chicken, (I'd been craving this chicken all day long and was so excited!)

Side note: A malibu chicken is a fried chicken breast with swiss cheese, ham, and sauce on top. A california malibu is a grilled chicken breast with swiss cheese, ham, sliced avocado, and sauce on top.

We got my food. It was a calfiornia malibu without the avocado and sauce, and a steak.

A steak?! WHAT?!

We told my manager. They said they'd fix it. Never did.

I got home and threw away my food in anger and then cried. Yes, a bit dramatic, but I was tired and really looking forward to my chickens!!

My husband is a trooper. He just let me cry and tickled my back until I felt better. I'm so lucky. How he puts up with me I'll never know, but I sure appreciate him and all he does.

Four More Years

How I feel about Obama's re-election:
  • I was excited it was over, because that meant no more political facebook posts, but the posts about the outcome are even more annoying!! It will never end!!
  • It's only four years. We should survive.
    • If the world ends on December 21st and we don't survive, I'll be ok with that.
  • Just because I support Romney, does not mean I am against everything Obama is for.
  • Frustrated because I feel like my very hard earned money goes to someone who's too lazy to earn money for themselves. It's called a job, get one. If that doesn't support you, get four, like my husband and I have.
  • I wish I could move to New Zealand for four years. Hey I have family there, maybe they'll let us come stay with them!
  • I hope and pray Obama proves all of us Romney supporters wrong and turns this country around like he says he will.
  • I'm cold. And tired of whining and cockiness. Get over what you can't change.

Date Night!

I get so excited when Shane and I have dates planned!

We love Chinese food, but haven't had it in so long, so we decided on that for dinner last night! We went to Fortune Cookie, it's an awesome restaurant in Riverton. I love it because you can get a Bento Box for cheap, (you get salad, fried rice, pot stickers, a main dish, AND soup!!)

After our DELICIOUS meal, we went to the movies! We saw a movie I've been dying to see since I first heard about it months ago!

It's about a freshman who is struggling with making friends AND overcoming his past. Two seniors befriend him and give him a great high school experience. It was full of a lot of emotion, which I wasn't expecting. I hate to admit it, but I did cry several times. . . Overall it was a great movie that I really recommend you see!

We also split an Icee at the theater, I was craving something cold, but not a drink. It was delicious! Mmmm!

Happy Halloween!

So Halloween was fun!

The day before Halloween Shane and I decided to make caramel apples! We made seven, two for us and five to take to my parent's house. By the time we were done making them we didn't even want them anymore, (so we have yet to eat ours.) We then cuddled while watching The Woman In Black, it wasn't that great, but it's hard finding PG-13 scary movies these days. We ended the night with a few episodes of 30 Rock.

Halloween day I got off work early so I was able to get some errands done before heading over to my parents. Once at my parents we ate chili and breadsticks, (even though it was warm enough for a bbq,) and then my dad, Magda, and I turned on a scary movie, (Shane wasn't there, he was at work.) We got about 15 minutes in before realizing it was very rated R and we were no longer interested in watching it. We turned the movie off and then just hung out, relaxed, and answered the door for adorable little trick-or-treaters. My nieces also came over and showed off their costumes! Shane got off early so he surprised me at my parents house with ice cream sandwiches, (as if we weren't eating enough sugar already!) We enjoyed them and then we went home. Once home Shane opened his gift from me, (which wasn't so much of a Halloween gift, it was a "sorry I've been moody lately," gift.) And after that we talked until we fell asleep for the night.

It was a good holiday. (Pictures to come!)

Here and There

It's hard working 8am -5pm when you're exhausted and don't feel well, not to mention I get to go to job #2 right after this one. I need to start getting to bed earlier.

It's October! What a great month! The leaves are changing, scary movies are coming out, corn mazes and pumpkin patches open, and the temperatures outside begin to drop. I love this month. I am so excited for hoodies, apple cider, and trick-or-treaters!

In November we are moving! Woo hoo! We're actually moving all of our things into a storage unit and then staying with my parents, but just until February. It's not what we had planned; the place we're going to move into was going to be available in December, and now it's not, but our lease will be up soon and we don't want to renew. So we're just going to crash at mom and dad's and save a few dollars before moving into our new place that we are so very excited for!

I love my husband! It's been almost a year since we got married and we have yet to have our first fight, or go a day without seeing each other since our first date. He makes me smile so easily, and he can always make me feel better when I'm grumpy or down. He has so much patience with me, I couldn't have married a better man! I cherish every moment we spend together. I just love Shane so much that I can't believe I haven't exploded because of all the love for him inside me!

Weekends!

Yay for weekend wear!

Friday night, the nieces slept over. We had fun!

 Spaghetti for dinner!
(The girls were watching a movie and wouldn't pay attention to the camera. I promise they were happy.)

Bed jumping!

The Current Playlist

The following is a list of my current top 10 songs and why.

In no Particular Order:

1. Lily Allen's "Never Gonna Happen."
Not only is the chorus extremely catchy, it's super fun to sing to and you can't help but sing it in an accent!

2. Greg Laswell's "Comes and Goes.
This song is calming. Yes.

3. Owl City's "Vanilla Twilight."
Super sweet song, great lyrics, fills me with emotions. I love it.

4. Katie Herzig's "Sweeter Than This."
Very uplifting, is currently my ringtone.

5. Repo! The Genetic Opera's "Genetic Repo Man."
I always have a song from a soundtrack in my top ten. Always. At the moment, it just happens to be this one, which is great because it wakes me up on my way to work in the mornings.

6. The Secret Handshake's "TGIF."
Because now I'm old enough to drive, no one can keep me inside.

7. The Verve Pipe's "The Freshman."
This song is just a tad depressing, but it's wonderfully written and pleasing to the ears.

8. The Aquabats, "Radio Down."
This is my husband's music, so when I listen to it, it reminds me of him and makes me smile, (and sometimes dance.)

9. The Knife's "You Make Me Like Charity."
This song is a love it or hate it song. Most will hate it, but I love it. You must listen to understand what I mean.

10. Bishop Allen's "Click Click Click Click."
The lyrics make me laugh.

Fun at the Fair!

Saturday, September 8th, I went to the Utah State Fair with Shane, Brooklyn and her friend Britlyn, and my friend Alexis. We ate food, shopped, people watched, and had a blast! Brooklyn and Britlyn decided to go on rides so they weren't with us most of the time.

 Sexy boy!

 Friendship bracelets!

Brooklyn feeling sick after all the rides.

This picture was taken at the exact right moment.
And by accident.

 "Touch me."

Meant to improve circulation, but really just jiggled your bum.

 Best lip scrub!

 Shane bought a poncho!

We bought some delicious lemonade!
